Science to improve your hair

Everyone of us imperfect mortals who do not have a personal hairstylist at hand daily surely experiences from time to time days when our hair is simply out of control. Believe it or not such a hair condition can very well affect our mood for the whole day. It doesn´t feel very good when we can´t see ourselves as attractive individuals. And that includes men too, don´t be mistaken. Some men confessed that when their hair is not as they want it to be their self-confidence is slumping. But now it seems bad hair days could be done with for good. The thing is German scientists have completed the first microscope analysis of how individual hair fibers rub together. They used atomic microscope to examine the atoms in hair, and different chemical and physical forces that are the results of their interaction. Eva Max, a doctoral student in chemistry at University of Bayreuth who participated at the study, said: “Given all the new hair treatments out there, there´s a growing need to make hair feel more natural.” Undoubtedly it is a breakthrough which can help significantly in development of more sophisticated hair care products. "There are several changes that take place at the same time when hair is exposed to hair care products, and it will help greatly to understand which of those changes is crucial for optimizing hair care," she said. "If, for example, it would turn out that there is an optimum friction between single hairs for pleasant (touch), the molecular composition of hair-care products can be optimized to achieve this friction."The study was presented at the weekend at the American Chemical Society´s national meeting in Philadelphia. Well, hopefully common people will benefit from results of this research in some time as will also multi-billion dollar hair care industry.

Každý z nás nedokonalých smrteľníkov, ktorí nemajú denne poruke vlasového stylistu, určite z času na čas máva dni kedy sú naše vlasy jednoducho nezvládnuteľné. Verte tomu či nie no stav v akom sú vaše vlasy môže veľmi ľahko ovplyvniť vašu náladu na celý deň. Nie je to veľmi príjemné keď sa necítime byť príťažliví. A namýľte sa, to sa týka aj mužov. Veľa mužov sa priznalo, že pokiaľ vlasy nevyzerajú podľa ich predstáv ich sebavedomie okamžite klesá. No teraz zdá sa svitá na lepšie časy a vaša koruna krásy bude môcť byť v budúcnosti dokonalá každý deň. Nemeckí vedci totiž uskutočnili prvú mikroskopovú analýzu toho ako sa jednotlivé vlasy o seba trú. Mikroskop s atómovým rozlíšením použili na preskúmanie atómov v jednotlivých vlasoch a takisto chemických a fyzikálnych javov, ktoré vznikajú v dôsledku ich interakcie. Eva Maxová, doktorandka chémie na univerzite v Bayreuthe, ktorá sa na výskume podieľala hovorí: „S čoraz väčším počtom nových produktov starostlivosti o vlasy, rastie i potreba toho aby boli vlasy prirodzenejšie.“ Tento prelomový objav môže nepochybne značne prispieť k vývoju účinnejších vlasových výrobkov. „Keď je vlas vystavený vlasovým produktom dochádza k niekoľkým zmenám, a keď budeme vedieť, ktorá z týchto zmien je pre optimálnu vlasovú starostlivosť zásadná veľmi nám to pomôže,“ vyjadrila sa. „Ak by napríklad vyšlo najavo, že existuje určité optimálne trenie medzi jednotlivými vlasmi na to aby boli vlasy príjemné na dotyk molekulárne zloženie vlasových výrobkov by sa prispôsobilo tak, aby sa takéto trenie dosiahlo.“ Štúdia bola oficiálne uvedená počas víkendového stretnutia Americkej chemickej spoločnosti vo Filadelfii. No dúfajme, že bežní ľudia budú mať z tohto objavu už čoskoro osoh rovnako ako ho určite bude mať aj miliardový vlasový priemysel.

Researcher says bigfoot just a rubber gorilla suit

A man is from the nature a very curious creation. So he had been always doing some researches in order to find out every rough fact from every part of science, history, nature, religion, etc. Then he realized he wanted to know not only rough facts, so the researches were still deeper and deeper.
I think almost everyone has ever thought about our ancestry. I mean our immemorial ancestors, not only our parents and grandparents. So thanks to these thoughts and questions some theories came into being. So now people can choose which one is the most acceptable for them and make their own opinions. These theories really differ from each other. It is because there are different approaches how to explain our existence and existence of our ancestors.
The first one is religious theory, which claims people had been made by God and lived in paradise. The continuity knows everybody well, I think. The second one is Darwin’s evolution theory, according to which people had been developed from the apes. But according to the scientists and the newest researches this isn’t exact true. People probably have got something common with apes and monkeys. These should be common ancestors. Although people and apes are relatively similar, there are some big differences. It is because the development of their common ancestors wasn’t the same. There have been two branches of the development. So you can see the consequences. But there has been long time predicted, that there is something between, the real offspring of common ancestors. It has been predicted that there are one or several creations which are something like man-ape. This creation should be big, hairy, shaggy and live alone somewhere in the North American forests. Because people probably only glimpsed him and found his footmark which was huge, his got the name Big Foot. But the existence of him was always unclear and never proved.
Recently the scientists and researchers have been really happy because it seemed that theory of Big Foot existence would be finally proved and they could make a research of this creation. This feeling came from the big cube of ice which was carried to the lab and in this cube the big carcass was encased. And they were almost sure it was Big Foot. So they decided to melt the ice very slowly and carefully to save this rarity. But finally they found out it was just a fraud, because it was not even carcass but rubber gorilla outfit. So you can imagine their disappointment.
But on the other hand, maybe once they will fulfil their dreams about finding and exploring the body of this hoax…

Človek je od prírody veľmi zvedavý tvor. Takže už od začiatku robí všakovaké výskumy, aby objavil zhruba všetky zaujímavé fakty z každej súčasti vedy, dejín, prírody, náboženstva, atď. Neskôr si uvedomil, že nechce vedieť iba holé fakty, ale niečo viac, preto začal robiť podrobnejšie výskumy.
Myslím si, že takmer každý sa niekedy zamýšľal nad naším pôvodom. Myslím naším pradávnymi predkami, nie iba rodičmi a starými rodičmi. Takže vďaka týmto myšlienkam a otázkam vzniklo niekoľko teórií. Takže teraz si z nich ľudia môžu vybrať tú, ktorá je pre nich najprijateľnejšia a vytvoriť si tak vlastný názor. Tieto teórie sa od seba dosť značne odlišujú. Je to kvôli tomu, že majú rôzne prístupy na vysvetlenie našej existencie a existencie našich predkov.
Prvou teóriou je náboženská, ktorá tvrdí, že ľudí stvoril Boh, preto žili v raji. Ďalšie pokračovanie už asi každý dobre pozná, aspoň si myslím. Druhou je Darwinova evolučná teória, podľa ktorej sa človek vyvinul z opice. Ale podľa vedcov a najnovších výskumov to nie je celkom tak. Ľudia s opicami mali pravdepodobne niečo spoločné. Tým niečím by mali byť spoloční predkovia. Napriek tomu, že ľudia a opice sú si relatívne podobní, existuje aj niekoľko veľkých odlišností. Je to preto, lebo ich predkovia sa nevyvíjali rovnako. Boli dve vývojové vetvy. Takže môžete vidieť, ako to nakoniec dopadlo. Ale dlho sa predpokladalo, že existuje čosi medzi opicou a človekom, pravý potomok spoločných predkov, že existuje jeden alebo zopár tvorov, ktorí sú niečo ako „opico-človek“. Toto stvorenie by malo byť veľké, chlpaté, strapaté a žiť osamote niekde v lesoch Severnej Ameriky. Pretože ľudia ho asi iba zazreli a našli jeho obrovskú stopu, pomenovali ho Big Foot (Veľká Noha). Ale jeho existencia bola vždy nejasná a nikdy nebola potvrdená.
V poslednom čase boli vedci a výskumníci veľmi šťastní, pretože sa zdalo, že teória o existencii Big Foot by mohla byť konečne potvrdená a oni by mohli tohto tvora skúmať. Tento pocit pochádzal z veľkej kocky ľadu, ktorá bola dopravená do laboratória a v ktorej bola ukrytá akási zdochlina. A oni si bola takmer úplne istí, že táto zdochlina je Veľká Noha. Takže sa rozhodli, že ľad veľmi pomaly a opatrne roztopia, aby tento unikát nepoškodili. Ale nakoniec zistili, že to bol iba obyčajný podvod, pretože to nebola dokonca ani zdochlina, ale iba gumený kostým gorily. Takže si asi viete predstaviť ich sklamanie.
Ale na druhej strane, niekedy sa im možno podarí splniť si sny o nájdení a preskúmaní tela tejto mystickej bytosti...

Dos Berlineses decidieron abrir un bar muy extraño que llaman Stasi bar. Los propietarios de este bar - Willi Gau y Wolfgang Schmelz no sabían que pueden causar. Stasi (de Alemán Staatssicherheit) era el Ministerio para la Seguridad Estatal. Mucha gente concidera este asunto bastante sensible y no les gusta beber una cerveza en este bar. Podemos mirar a la historia. El Ministerio para la Seguridad Estatal - Stasi - fue establecido en febrero de 1950. Stasi era la policía oficial de seguridad de Alemania Oriental. Stasi empleaba a más de 91000 personas y un oficial tenía que seguir a aproximadamente 180 personas. Debería conocer todo en lo que la gente piensa, lo que hacen, de lo que hablan. Casi cada persona informaba contra sus - amigos, colegas, maridos, esposas. Stasi no tenía los empleados sólo en Alemania Oriental, habían también algunos empleados en Alemania Occidental. Stasi terminó después de la caída de muro de Berlín en noviembre de 1989 cuando la gente que estaba en el control de Stasi destruyó la oficina central. Ahora los dos Berlineses construyeron allí su Stasi bar. Pero las víctimas de comunismo están indignadas. Los propietarios piensan que la gente debería cambiar su opinión en la historia. Pero la gente cuyos amigos y familia murieron en este régimen no pueden bromear. Gau y Schmelz sirven en su bar cerveza y comidas típicas de Alemania Oriental. Si usted es un visitante regular puede hacerse el informador Stasi y así tendrá un descuento de 10%.. ¿No es cruel? Pienso que nadie debería bromear sobre la historia que era más que seria y muy dolorosa para la gente alemana.

Stasi bar in Berlin

Two Berliners decided to found a very strange bar which is called Stasi bar. The owners of this bar – Willi Gau and Wolfgang Schmelz did not know what they can cause. The Stasi (from German Staatssicherheit) was the Ministry for State Security. For many people this topic is still too sensitive and they do not like to drink a beer in this bar. We can take a look into the history. The Ministry for State Security – Stasi – was established in February 1950. Stasi was the official security police of East Germany. Stasi employed more than 91 000 people and one officer had to follow about 180 people. He should know everything what the people think, what they do, what they speak. Almost every person informed against – friends, colleagues, husbands, wives. Stasi did not have the employees only in East Germany, there were also some employees from West Germany. Stasi ended after the fall of Berlin Wall in November 1989 when the people who were under the control of Stasi destroyed the headquarters. Now two Berliners built there their Stasi bar. But the victims of communism are indignant. The owners think that people should change their view on the history. But people whose friends and family died in this regime can not joke about it. Gau and Schmelz serve in their bar beer and typical East German food. If you are a regular visitor you can become Stasi informer and for this position you will get 10% discount. Is it not cruel? I think that nobody should joke about the history that was more than serious and very painful for German people.

Dvaja obyvatelia Berlína sa rozhodli založiť zvláštny bar, ktorý nazvali Stasi bar. Majitelia tohto baru – Willi Gau a Wolfgang Schmelz ani netušili, čo môžu spôsobiť. Stasi (z nemčiny Staatssicherheit) bolo Ministerstvo pre štátnu bezpečnosť. Veľa ľudí pokladá túto tému za citlivú a odmietajú piť pivo v tomto bare. Pozrime sa do minulosti. Ministerstvo pre štátnu bezpečnosť – skrátene Stasi – bolo založené vo februári 1950. Stasi bolo oficiálnou bezpečnostnou políciou východného Nemecka. Stasi zamestnávalo viac ako 91 000 ľudí a jeden dôstojník musel sledovať približne 180 ľudí. Mal vedieť o všetkom, čo si ľudia myslia, čo robia, čo hovoria. Takmer každá osoba udávala – priateľov, kolegov, manželov a manželky. Stasi nemalo svojich zamestnancov len vo východnom Nemecku, ale mali zamestnancov aj v západnom Nemecku. Stasi ukončilo svoju činnosť po páde berlínskeho múra v novembri 1989, keď ľudia, ktorí boli pod kontrolou Stasi, zničili vedenie. Teraz na tomto mieste stojí Stasi bar. Obete komunizmu sú však pobúrené. Majitelia si myslia, že ľudia by už mali zmeniť pohľad na minulosť. Ale pre ľudí, ktorí v tomto režime stratili svojich priateľov a rodinných príbuzných, nie je ľahké žartovať o tejto téme. Gau a Schmelz ponúkajú vo svojom bare pivo a typické východonemecké jedlá. Ak si pravidelným návštevníkom, môžeš sa stať Stasi informátorom a za túto pozíciu dostaneš 10% zľavu. Nie je to kruté? Myslím si, že by nikto nemal žartovať o minulosti, ktorá bola viac než vážna a pre Nemcov bolestivá.

Stazito vrabotilo poveke od 91000 luge i eden oficer trebalo da prati okolu 180 luge. Toj trebalo da znae sé što lugeto mislat, što pravat, što zboruvaat. Skoro sekoja licnost informirala protiv - prijateli, kolegi, sopruzi, ženi. Stazi nemalo vraboteni samo vo Istocna Germanija, isto taka imalo i vraboteni od Zapadna Germanija. Stazito ja prekinalo rabotata po padot na Berlinskiot dzid vo noemvri 1989 godina koga lugeto koi bile pod kontrola na stazito go uništile glavnoto sedište. Sega dvajcata Berlineri go izgradile nivniot Stazi bar. No žrtvite na komunizmot se luti. Sopstvenicite mislat deka lugeto treba da si gi promenat pogledite kon istorijata. No lugeto cii prijateli i familija pocinale za vreme na ovoj režim ne možat da se šeguvaat so toa. Gau i Šmelc vo nivniot bar služat pivo i tipicna istocno germanska hrana. Ako ste redoven posetitel može da stanete Stazi informator i za ovaa pozicija ke dobiete 10% popust. Ne e li surovo? A mysterious exchanging of money

Several recent exchanging of destroyed and buried money made investigators suspicious. Huge amounts of money usually arrive in armored truck or in shipping container. Arriving into a branch of some bank with enormous amount of money in pocket is suspicious. Banking habits and transactions of Franz Felhaber are suspicious for a longer time. In recent years, he requested in several local banks exchanging tens of thousands buried dollars. It is always the same. He keeps bringing 100$ bills from 70s and 80s. The bills are in a bad condition and the story is changing. He told investigators, that it was an inheritance, somebody dug a tree and found it, it was buried in alfalfa field or a relative found a map that led to treasure. Felhaber arrived into several local banks in El Paso, with his relatives or without them, and asked employees to exchange dirty old money for clean. There is a suspicion, that he used false identity, when he introduced him as Ken Motley. Ken Motley was bearing a resemblance to Fehlaber. When some bank employees saw a picture of Felhaer, they told it was Motley.
Exchanging destroyed money for new is usual. Tens of thousands transactions are routine every year. But there are some signs that immediately catch an attention of investigators. Making a series of smaller exchanges or bringing money form abroad are among them.
Fehlaber was interviewed by investigators in October 2005. He was hesitating about some details and he was changing his statements. After being interviewed, in January 2006 he changed his strategy.

Woman, 97, says cat's yowling saved her from fire

People have lived with animals all along. At first, animals had been wild but man found out the way how to tame them and then use the meat and milk in the case of cows, goats and sheep as a food and their leather to clothe himself and his family. He also learned how to use the force of bulls and horses in order to make up his field. Later people tamed other kinds of animals and make of some of them their pets. Mainly dogs and cats have always been the most popular.
People breed pets because they want to be accompanied during their life, they don’t want to be alone, they love animals or they just want to take care of somebody or something. There are so many older people living with dog or cat. But doing this can be also helpful, not only pleasant for them. Let’s consider, people don’t feel so alone and they have to do something in order to keep their pet alive. But on the other hand, pets, and generally animals, are very thankful and they can even save your life.
Animals are usually very clever and intelligent creatures. You can see it in many cases from the past when pet saved its owner’s life. So she knew she had to run outside the house. And thanks her pet it is alive, healthy and happy now. And Boo Boo is alright too, thanks the fire fighters from The Independence Fire Department. According to this institution the damage causes at $75,000 to the house and $40,000 to possessions. But old lady and her daughter are very thankful that she and her darling are alive, no matter the value of damages.
So you can see that sometimes it is better to have someone or some pet although you have to take care of them every day, because nobody knows when and where they will be able to save your life…

There is no surprise for anyone anymore that the economy of US is in recession or at least is going through a rough time. The sluggish housing market, the credit crunch and the soaring price of oil have marked severely all industries and companies. Some companies and banks have declared bankruptcy, while others are struggling to survive.
Northwest Airlines Corp. is one of the companies that is trying to cope with the new state of reality and they are not the only airline company who thought about adding fuel surcharges. Rick Seaney, a blogger for farecompare.com, counted about 21 fare increases this year. However, the truth is that many of the increases have been pulled back because competitors didn't match them. According to Northwest spokeswoman Michelle Aguayo-Shannon surcharges of up to $80 will apply to travel to about 7,000 city pairs starting next year, so there is no need to worry immediately, but on the long run, it represents the largest one up to now.
A good piece of news is that the fares increases have generally slowed down. That is probably because the oil prices are starting to drop and they are receiving the profit from the first surcharges. On the market, Northwest's stock price has increased and the forecast for the coming year is quite good. After all, who could blame them for the fares hikes? The truth is that all means of transport had to deal with the oil prices that reached record heights. Now, that the cat is out of the bag, who is in fact guilty for everything? Ľudia žijú so zvieratami od nepamäti. Na začiatku boli zvieratá divé, ale človek našiel spôsob, ako ich skrotiť a potom použiť mäso a mlieko od kráv, kôz a oviec ako potravu a ich kožu na ošatenie seba a svojej rodiny. Taktiež sa naučil, ako využívať silu býkov a koní, aby si mohol upravovať svoje pole. Neskôr ľudia skrotili aj iné druhy zvierat a z niektorých si spravili svojich domácich miláčikov. Týmito boli hlavne pes a mačka, ktoré sa stále tešia veľkej obľube.
Ľudia chovajú domáce zvieratká pretože chcú mať nejakého spoločníka svojím životom, nechcú byť sami, majú radi zvieratá alebo iba kvôli tomu, že sa o niekoho alebo o niečo chcú starať. Aj preto veľa starších ľudí žije so psom alebo s mačkou. Ale to, že toto robia, im môže taktiež pomôcť, nielen byť im potešením. Môžeme vziať do úvahy, že so zvieratkom sa ľudia necítia tak osamelí a musia vyvinúť aj nejakú aktivitu na to, aby udržali svojho miláčika na žive. Ale na druhej strane, domáce zvieratá, a zvieratá celkovo, sú veľmi vďačné tvory a dokonca vám môžu zachrániť život.
Zvieratá sú zvyčajne veľmi múdre a inteligentné tvory. Môžete to vidieť na mnohých prípadoch z minulosti, keď zvieratko zachránilo život svojho pána. Alebo niektorí psi sú dokonca špeciálne cvičení, aby hľadali a našli človeka, ktorého zavalila lavína. Ale aj mačky a ďalšie zvieratá sú schopné niečo takéto vykonať.
Vezmime si napríklad 97 ročnú ženu z Independence v Missouri. Táto žena spala tuhým spánkom, keď jej dom začal horieť. A vďaka jej domácemu miláčikovi je teraz živá, zdravá a šťastná. A Boo Boo je taktiež v poriadku, a to vďaka hasičom z Hasičskej stanice v Independence. Podľa tejto inštitúcie je škoda na dome asi 75 000 dolárov a škoda na majetku okolo 40 000 dolárov. Ale stará pani a jej dcéra sú vďačné, že ona a jej miláčik sú nažive, bez ohľadu na výšku škôd.
