Blurred history of D. B. Cooper probably cracked
by Lenka Filipova
Cooper has become a legend of the Pacific Northwest as he hijacked the plane 36 years ago and jumped out with his para-brake. He tried to escape and thus all people living near by this region expect his body will be find once as an evidence of his audacious elopement. It all happened in November 1971 when someone, who identified himself as Dan Cooper, seized over a Northwest Orient flight. He claimed he had a bomb and consequently forced passengers to give him all their money. He received from them $200,000 and with his bag full of money leaped out of the plane somewhere near the Oregon line. It was estimated that he might have probably landed around Amboy. Exactly in this area the children were playing recently. They unearthed a piece of fabric of chute sticking out of the ground. According to FBI agent Larry Carr they immediately called for their father and urged him to call FBI.As this became publicly known, the legend of D. B. Cooper was reopened again. In Ariel, 20 miles away of Amboy, there is a store which used to have D. B. Copper party every year. Its owner Dona Eliot do not think it is him as her opinion is that he hid himself in the bush to wait for his companion, who should take him to the airport in Portland (60 miles south). She thinks that is the perfect place to nestle as nobody would snoop him there.FBI does not want to tell in forward whether it is the right kind of chute till the results if examinations are not confirmed.
