Zlé šoférovanie je geneticky dané
by Magdalena Rosova
Podľa výsledkov výskumu, ktorý podporoval americký inštitút zdravia (National Institutes of Health), spadá do kategórie ľudí s týmto génom približne 30 percent Američanov.

Bad Driving Is Genetic
by Magdalena Rosova
New scientific research suggests that some people really are just bad drivers. Scientists found out that some individuals who are born with a certain variant of a gene do not stay on the road as good as other people. The results of the research founded by the National Institutes of Health say 30 percent of Americans are bad driers, having this gene which, as they say, equals bad driving. The research was held on only 29 individuals, 22 without bad-driving gene and just 7 with it. The participants were asked to drive 15 laps on a simulator. Researchers prepared difficult track with curves and turns and measured how well they stayed on course. Four days later, the drivers repeated the test on simulator. Results of both tests proved that people with the gene performed 20 percent worse than people without the gene. Scientists say the gene is able to limit the availability of a certain protein during any activity. This protein is needed for communication between brain cell! s and it also keeps them in the best shape. That is why it strengthens a memory and helps the body to respond when the task comes. People with the gene make more mistakes and they also forget more of what they learned, according to Steven Cramer, neurology associate professor at the University of California, who led the research. Compared with people carrying a ordinary type of this gene, when individuals with this variant must complete a task a smaller portion of the brain gets stimulated. The gene variant is also good, in some cases. People with the gene are able to maintain their mental sharpness longer when Parkinson's or any other neurodegenerative disease is present. The journal Cerebral Cortex brings more detailed information about the research.

Ako byť bohatý?
by kristina leskova
Aké by to bolo? Veľa ľudí by ocenilo, keby mali dostatok peňazí, najmä v t! ejto dobe. Forbes analyzoval najbohatších ľudí, pretože chceli zistiť, či majú nejaké spoločné znaky. A niektoré výsledky boli skutočne zaujímavé.

How to be rich?
by kristina leskova
Imagine that you would be as rich as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs or other famous and rich people. How it would be? Of course having so much money has some advantage. You do not have to be worried about your expenses, you have enough money to pay bills and live the way you want. But how do other people look at rich people? And maybe you ask how it is possible to become rich. Many people would appreciate to have enough money, especially at this time. Forbes analyzed the richest people because they wanted to know if there are some common signs among these people. And some of the results are very interesting. First sign was that many parents of these rich people were talented for ! math. And the truth is that it is quite important to know the numbers because as rich person you always work with high numbers. And the mathematical abilities can be inherited. The most common jobs among the parents were engineer, accountant or small business owner. Then another common sign was the month when they were born. From 480 people who appeared on the Forbes list of the World´s Billionaires in past three years, 42 of them were born in September. Generally we could say that most of them were born during the fall. On the other hand only few of them were born in December which is a month with quite high birth rate. If you think that the most important thing how to be rich is the school then you are wrong. Almost 15 percent of these rich people have never finished a college. For example Bill Gates from Microsoft, Steve Jobs from Apple, Michael Dell from Dell, Larry Ellison from Oracle or Mark Zuckerberg from Facebook tried their fortune in technology but they we! re not successful. And the last sign is that many of the rich! people worked in investment bank Goldman Sachs.
