Chris Cantell Discusses - Fashion Live: eBay Sells Faked Fashion
by Milota Sidorova

Despite some say it is internet, that has no limits, there are still some black holes in its business area.In case of software services, all seems fair enough. One trouble, one call and smart admin can repair your connection even from his bed. What's real problem is insufficient customer's protection.Although buying all kind of goods is looking more than comfortable, one must understand, costumer can't check the quality by himself or herself. Nor to feel safe, in case of delivery service, moreover when you are citizen of Middle & Eastern European Region, where the quantity still beats the quality. Indeed, those kind of people (for decades living under communistic regime) were used to shut up and not to complain. What a golden mine for ambitious managers from yelling always ambitious West!Returning back to internet on-line shopping, it's more than necessary recently case of fake goods sold out in eBay on-line auction. French based LVMH Moët Hennessy • Louis Vuitton, the world's largest luxury goods conglomerat has offered its product to well known network giant, that instead of original ones sold out counterfeit goods. Selling faked Dior, Givenchy or Kenzo for more than amazing sum under the name of such prestigious brand, that is what I call & enough risky dirty business. According expectations, LVMH pushed unserious on-line distributor down to the commercial court, complaining that it was hurt by the sale of knockoff bags and clothes on eBay. Luckily, in this case the law stood exactly on the right side and eBay was punished to pay more than $59 M to the fashion company. However, its defenders stoke back declaring, LVMH wasn't simply strong enough to handle new market strategies. Literally, prestigious fashion house wasn't able to stand the opportunity to sell its goods to thousands via images and attractive website offers. Well, think about it twice. Touching, testing and checking the product by yourself can really examine mistakes, never seen via attractive website offers. Maybe I am old school nut, but wasting 5,000 bugs for something I have never seen, is clearly madness no.1.

Chris Cantell Discusses - Fashion Live: Christian Dior : Lisa Fonssagrives Lives
by Paulina Neshybova

In Paris there has been John Galliano's Haute-Couture Autumn-Winter 2008-2009 fashion show for French fashion house Dior. This fashion show was a requiem for the first supermodel Lisa Fonssagrives . She was a Swedish model at first trying to study ballet in Paris. Later, her image appeared on the cover of many magazines and she worked with such people as George Hoyningen-Huene, Man Ray, Horst, Richard Avedon and Penn. Her ellegance was apparent at the first sight and she gave a classical reverence to anything she wore. She was the inspiration and subject of some of the greatest photographs. Now, John Galliano was much inspired by her and by the age in which she lived in his latest collection which was in the Rodin Museum. It was his best couture collection in half a decade. All the clothes fitted the models perfectly, for example elegant tulle embroidered dresses or black crocodile jackets paired with skirts. The British designer, who introduced the extreme of elegance and extravagance in his collections now emphasized mainly the waist line. He also presented the womanhood in a sophisticated way and neutral pastels. The models were elegant, playful and feminine. Also Hatter Stephen Jones put in a remarkable performance with his skullcaps and flapper caps .At the and Galliano received applause and recognition from notable celebrities at the Paris show including Eva Mendes, Janet Jackson, Olivier Martinez, Claudia Schiffer, Elsa Zylberstein and Liv Tyler.

Chris Cantell Discusses - Art Live: British Museum director refuses Metropolitan Museum of Art
by Paulina Neshybova

Neil MacGregor was given an offer to become a director of Metropolitan Museum of art in New York.He was one of the most possible persons to replace Philippe de Montebello, who is ending his career in this museum at the end of the year. He has been there since 1977 and he is one of the longest serving directors in all art major museums around the world.Even though Neil MacGregor was considering this offer, finally he refused it and he lenghtened his agreement in the British museum for the next 5 years. He has been in this function since 2002, when he left National Gallery. During his life he was also a Lecturer in art history at Reading university. At the time of his turn-out, the British museum had been in a financial crisis. However, he was a very diplomatic director, therefore his refusal to Metropolitan Museum of Art was a good joyous news for board of trustees at the London institution.British museum contains a collection of antiquities and art and its entrance is for free. It has many departments for instance department of Africa, Oceania and the Americas,Ancient Egypt and Sudan,Asia,Coins and Medals,Conservation and Scientific Research,Prehistory and Europe or Prints and Drawings. From its beginnings it was planned to be a museum for public without any entrance tickets. This museum was also one of the most visited cultural attractions in the last year in UK, mainly because of a new Terracotta Warriors exhibition.

Art market remains still strong
by Petra Kamenicka

Sotheby's and its main rival Christie's both agree, that the art market is still strong and experiences a period of expansion, despite global economical problems, seen mainly in USA. Latest news just prove this statement. Many record -breaking auctions were quoted last week and many paintings were soled for prices, that were much more higher than previous estimations. A huge amount of paintings were sold last week and this caused extraordinary transfers of money. Among the most interesting auctions, there is a Francis Bacon's painting of his lover. This picture was sold at auction in London, arranged by Sotheby's auction house on 1st July. This picture called ,,The Study for Head of George Dyer” was a part of Sotheby's Evening Sale of Contemporary Art. According to estimations, this painting should have been sold for more than 8 million dollars. But the price on auction rose to 13.7 million pounds, which represents 27 million dollars. Bacon is considered to be one of the greatest painters of 20th century. The picture ,,Study for Head of Geroge Dyer” was painted in 1967. In this time, Francis Bacon was at the height of his powers. This picture is an outstanding example of paintings created at the height of his powers. This work is extraordinary, because as Oliver Barker, the senior specialist, contemporary art at Sotheby's in London says: ,,Study for Head of George Dyer represents the zenith in portraiture for Bacon, an artist, who is world-renowned for accomplishing an incredible likeness to hoe subject via a seemingly chaotic use of brushstrockers on the canvas.” Nowadays, the market for works by Bacon is at all-time high. Another painting created by Francis Bacon, monumental Triptych, 1976 was sold at Sotheby's auction in New York on May 14 for record-breaking 86.2 million dollars. As Oliver Barker says: ,,In the brilliance if its conception and the significance of its subject, The Study for Head of George Dyer should be included into history of art alongside Picasso's Weeping woman 1937 in the Tate as an example of what portraiture can achieve.”Another remarkable selling of this week was an iron sculpture by artist Anthony Gormley, sold for 4.55 million dollars.

Trend for Pamela Anderson-like breast implants is gone
by Zuzana Zelenakova

Whether you believe it or not breast implants have been used for over a century to augment the size or alter the shape of women´s breasts, to be more precise since 1895. currently there are two main types of breast implants: saline-filled implants and silicone-gel-filled implants. If some statistics should be done patients seeking this kind of body correction are usually younger, healthier, from higher social-economic class and often married with children. They are not satisfied with their appearance and even experienced some uncomfortable remarks about their appearance. The self-esteem with these women is not what is should be and even prevalence for depression is higher. That is as far as comparison to the general population is concerned. Desire for bigger breasts or simply for breast correction is part of bigger image these days. Today great emphasize is put on body, which as we think from should be flawless as we see it in ads or in movies, mostly those coming from Hollywood. We can say that women now are more sensible to the needs of their bodies and when they decide for a plastic surgery they want the result to fit in the whole frame. That is why breasts a la Pamela Anderson are no longer number one with plastic surgeons. Another important thing besides choosing the right size and type of implants corresponding to your body is choosing the right person to do it. “Patients must spend some time 'investigating' the doctor´s credentials and reputation in the industry. Visiting the doctor´s clinic a few times and talking to other patients in the waiting area is a good way to validate the doctor´s experience,” advises Dr. Marco Faria-Correa, a renowned Brazilian cosmetic surgeon working at the Gleneagles Hospital, Camden Medical Centre and East Shore Hospital in Singapore.

Chef de Partie – Prestigious Restaurant – London – Mon – Fri – £24000
by Radka Konkolova

Probably there are very many various restaurants in each capital. So are in London. You can choose from great amount of restaurants or pubs in average or in very high quality. Some of them are dedicated only for the rich people, but some also for ordinary people, who want to eat well for not too much money. Very interesting is that almost every restaurant is specialized and based on the different cuisine. Recently the most favourite are those with traditional English recipes. I think the menu assembling must be very hard work because of different combination of meals, food and drinks. It has to be tip-top to make the customer satisfied. The award winning fine dining Restaurant and Oyster Bar from Central London belongs to such prestigious places dedicated to the richer people and has got reputation as the epitome of fine English dining in London. This restaurant offers very sophisticated and delicious seasonal menus specializing in fish, shellfish and game according to the season. Chef takes care of the freshness and finesse of the ingredients from the best Britain farms. In this restaurant there isbrigade of 14 energetic, creative and professional chefs who prepare very tasty and good-looking meals for your lunch or dinner. But not only dishes are very pleasant and interesting. Also the space is in similar spirit, so you will love spending your lunch or dinner time there. Of course this restaurant offers the first class services for their guests. And this very one also need a new staff for making things better. Probably there is lack of chefs and many hungry clients. So management wants to hire a responsible, experienced chef with proven skills and good knowledge of British cuisine and not least with an eye for details, because the meal “design” is very important for restaurant and its reputation. Dishes must also appear beautiful for customer's eye. On the other hand, besides requests they supply very good conditions for the selected candidate. Besides working in good and funny team they offer quite good salary condition, benefits, insurance, holiday, etc according to the given agreement. Probably this could be a good and well paid position for someone who can cook and loves cooking...

Food lovers are tempted by the Quebec city
by Petra Kamenicka

This unusual city lying on St. Lawrence River has its own atmosphere and magic. Is is not surprising fact, that this city is considered to be a paradise for food lowers. Annually, a whole Quebec region celebrates the gastronomy. The well-known Festival of Gastronomie is organized every year and this occasion for food-lovers lasts 7 days. Many foreign tourists are tempted to visit this event full of delicious food. It consist of a multitude of activities for visitors. Main proponents of gastronomic world present there their know-how. Quebec city is a cradle of French culture in Northern America, so it is no wonder, why this city is a paradise for food-lovers. French is world-known for its gastronomy, and it can be designated as an inventor of gastronomy. And this French influence is visible and clear. An interesting fact about Quebec is, that it has more restaurants per capita than other places in Canada. But how did Quebec developed into the capital of fine-dining? Chefs from all corners of the world were attracted by World´s Fair in 1967. They came into Quebec and many of them stayed there. Devoted to their occupation, they opened a restaurants there. Such a big concentration of restaurants and chefs caused a revolution in local dining habits. Newly opened restaurants demanded daily delivery of fresh stuff. Soon, a local production of fresh fruit and vegetable, cheese, bread, chocolate and meat has been started. Menu in restaurants in Quebec is submitted to local growing seasons. A plenty of shops selling exclusive, in Quebec produced food, have been established, and can bee found at almost each corner. Probably the oldest grocery store in Northern America can be found in Quebec. It was established by Jean-Afred Moisan in 1871. No doubt, that delicious food and restaurants are one of many reasons to visit Quebec. And the gastronomy in Quebec tempts everybody, not only food lovers.
